I found this and another old pocket watch in a neighborhood that was turned in to a park.  I started cleaning this one with marginal results as you can see.

I will post any progress on this one.

Good luck with the cleaning. In days gone by, I would refer to that item as a training device. It has all the hardest elements you'd ever run into in a cleaning job.

Isn't this just the most fascinating hobby?

Some cleaning progress.  I used a off brand of CLR and it looks like it is attacking the uncorroded metal.  I doubt that it is possible to clean further.  Anybody have any ideas?
