Go Up Go Down

Well, my friend and I went out today, hit two Tot Lots, He found about 59 cents in clad, I found more alum foil and 1 dime.

On my way  home, I decided to try out a lot in my neighborhood where a home was torn down. After about 5 pennies, all about 1960, I got a reading that was 10 inches down.  I really do not like to dig that far, but I decided to try it.  There it was, a dime. But I wonder.... this does not have the copper ring on it.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

I also found 2 nickels (I have to clean, I can't read the date) and a quarter that I cannot read the date on... But all and all, I am very happy.

I need more days off!!!

Thanks for reading.

SharenH

1964 was the last year that all silver coins were minted in silver except for the Kennedy Half Dollar which was minted in silver in 1965.

Congratulations! You're now a veteran treasure hunter.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

It's a 1964, and yes, it came out clean!  I want to go there again tomorrow and try the deeper hits... I am so excited... Thank you for the support!

And the silver rush begins!! Pretty exciting to see that silver disc shape in the ground.  Most of the time, he know what it might be.  Sounds like you had a great experience, hopefully you will relive it on the next hunt!! Congrats!! Wink

I luv silver. If I dont find silver I start thinking my machine is not working right. Nothing sounds like it.  Great If I dont find silver after a couple hunts at a sight I move on to the next place. I am a silver junkie.  Cheesy
Great find.
Good Hunting

You did super good and yes it is very exciting when you find that first silver coin. Wait till you find your first gold ring, you'll be jumping all over the place.   [waveing]John in Va
