Hi, gal.

FWIW, I think you should persist in this one.  I did some photographic geewhiz and reversed backgrounds, etc.  Looks to me like there is a dot as well.   All the best to you as well!

The tough part about authentication is that the finder has to "ship it to an authenticator" to get an official opinion and possible slabbing.  The only way to avoid that is to attend a MAJOR coin show in your area.  Fred Weinberg, for example is an authority on coins, and was one of the valuable authenticators of the King Faruk $20 gold piece that brought umpty million here a few months back.

Major dealers show up at major coin shows.  Just don't go alone, okay?  And if you do ship it off say to ANACS.com for authentication, your photographs will be required to make the postal service in your country even seriously consider your
piece, so take more pictures.

If you can find someone with a camera attached to a microscope like I have which permits photographs through the lens, that would also be a good idea.  Check with any coin clubs in your area for someone with that skills/equipment, make an appointment and go get your picture taken.

All the best.  How very pleased I am for you!

Megan Rose
