Here are the finds form one short afternoon hunting an old farmhouse. My bset find I think is the washer. It is hand beaten and the hole seems to have been made with a "drill" on an anvil. Also a brass ball with loops on opposite sides. Don't kknow what it is. Any help out there? Also three 10 point "Fannie Farkles" tokens from Gatlinburg, TN. One nickle, one clad dime several pennies (including a 1964 d ) and what appears to be a melted silver coin. Al found on the first trip out with a new Bounty Hunter 1100.{alt}[/img]

wb4rav, The thing with the brass ball looks like a machine part. I've seen it before but I can't guess what it is though Model 'T' Ford was the first thing to come to mind. . Not bad finds for the first hunt. It sounds like the Bounty Hunter is a hot machine.  I went out today and drove around looking for a new site. I do that a lot when the weather is actually too hot to get out of the car and hunt. But today I found a vacant lot on a busy road corner that was well shaded with trees and easy digging.  I spent an hour there and came up with 7 dimes, 6 pennys and 2 quarters, all clad. Oldest coin 1970 a canadian penny. The thing about the site, It was where road side vendors set up and the ground is always full of money but its always clad. This is Florida and many of these roads did not exist before 1960. I was looking for jewelry but I'll take the clad. I went on to a park a few miles down the road and rode my bike into one of the trails. Found a nickle and a penny. Oldest date 1943. By that time it was too hot and I got out of there before the ranger showed up. gambol
