Go Up Go Down

Two clad coins from my search yesterday on my new Garrett Ace 350. I was lucky to even get those. There was a TON of trash out there!
I went out to a hiking trail at the benches of a mountain range out here, and thought I'd try my luck. Here's what I got:
- about a dozen aluminum cans (one was pretty old was RC cherry cola).
- couple old tin cans
- about a dozen or so bottle caps some beer the rest were too rusty to tell
- lots of pull-tabs (the old kind)
- an empty and a live .22 round!
- an empty 30-06 round
- clad dime
- clad quarter

That's about it.. I think I'll hit the park next time and focus on getting coins.

Yes, I did have a good time. There were a few spectators on the hiking trail that said hi.
I'm thinking about keeping a box for all the brass I pick up and recycling it. How much would you say that I should accumulate before taking it down to recycle to make it worth the trip? 5 lbs? 10 lbs?
I don't know how much per pound it's going for right now.
What do you all do with it?

clean yellow brass is running about $1.65/lb for under 50 lbs and about $1.70/lb for over 50lb lots.

Contaminated brass is significantly less.

somebody might want to check the accuracy of this site which lets you calculate based on copper and zinc content

The sites I found those numbers on were running between $0.73 and $0.77/pound

From the land of the Bluenose.....sad to find that much trash along a trail or in a park.  You paid your dues for those 2 coins!  Imagine with that garbage removed next walk about will be better~!
