it's absolutely amazing how much trash is on a swimming beach...apparently people spend nearly every single penny they have on beer, because after 7+ total hours of digging i only ended up with $3.63 in coins and countless beer caps.

found half a dozen tent stakes, one toy coast guard helicopter, one large fishing weight with hook and a dozen+ large nails. amazed the beaches aren't covered in blood!

found what i thought was my first silver...a braided necklace with an India coin (1964) attached...just looked it up and it is nickel...so i am guessing it was just lost because it had no discoloration. Still a neat find..my first foreign coin.

on my last evening of hunting (2 hours) i ended up with just 2 dimes but i did hit a gold ring with 3 small stones.
I'm having a little trouble reading the stamp. in a box it says either "EC" or "FC" after the box it says "10KT". I was wondering if it was gold filled? can anyone tell by the stamp?

If its marked 10KT my bet is its 10k gold as for FC it could be several things, makers mark, trade mark who knows but I have seen several import rings marked FC  meaning Fancy Cut. Can you post a picture

If you're camera has a macro setting (usually represented by a flower), use it for close-ups.    Also, tripods really do help (and they're not very expensive)

Save the coins jewelry you find. Eventually, you can use them to by the best camera in the shop.

You know, it's amazing how fast it accumulates. Each year I start with a new 5 gallon pail with a cover and dump my coins in there. Over the past 41 years (I had to count them up - oh, dear - that's a lot of years.) in active hunting, I have needed a second pail on 5 of those more memorable years. All the common coins and junk jewelry go into them. The high value coins, gold and silver are eventually sold as collectibles, jewelry or scrap. Then I clean and roll the common coins adding more to the "Take a Vacation" account at the bank. This is one amazing hobby.

Do you have any idea how much one of those pails can hold? Most years have netted well over $1000.00 in modern coins alone.
