Not much to show today.
A small junk ring and a very much worn out coin.
But look where they where found.
They where attached imbedded to a clamp of iron.
The iron gets oxidized and covers the good metal
Please pay attention to all signals that made your detector Beep.
If you discriminate and cut iron off you will be loosing good targets.

I love them.
I have seen a guy rejecting a Florin (28 mm silver coin) because his 3030 told him it was a beer can. Well that’s what he thought.

Great finds, Nickel!  Way to detect and explore your target!

That's where I think a lot of us who started out with the old BFOs, early TRs and VLFs and non-computerized detectors have an advantage over people who depend on computerized and target ID machines to make their decision for them.  I cannot begin to tell how many times when I thought I had a target identified from sounds and signals as bad, that turned out to be good silver, good rings, great relics, and so on!  You have to look if you want to know for sure!

Dig It!  Dig It!  Dig It!

I have an old war camp that I go to but there are so many small bits of wire that you just have to use discrimination in that area or my favorite two tone and no discrimination.

I have learned (again) to dig it dig it dig it. There is no present way to be 100% sure what the target is. I believe discrimination was invented for people who are happy with what they did find and not what they could have found. I do envy superman.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

That's why I like the two tone I can decide to dig it or not to dig it.
