This new hobby is slowly paying for itself. Yesterday we were coming back from the beach in our pontoon boat and as i put the boat in reverse to back into my dock the engine revved and i had no reverse. the prop had fallen off
, luckily we were close enough to the dock i could reach it and we got home dry. then i went and got my MD and waded out and located my prop...no luck on the nut and spacer...too much seaweed. but finding the prop saved at least $100 dollars
.
have to order the other parts(local boat shop doesn't have them).
so tonight i drove to the beach for the first time, searched the volley ball court and then started on the beach till i ran out of light...headed for the gate to get to my car it it was locked(I usually just hop in the boat and head home)..tried the other gate and it was padlocked too. now in the parking lot is a police car
watching the main road...in front of him are gates for the tractor to get in and scrap the beach and mow....it locked but there is enough space i think i could crawl under, but i rather not in front of a cop.....so one last hope was to go out the way i came in which is a gate that leads to a group of docks..on the way in they were boaters on the dock and it was open....it has a sign that says always lock the gate when you leave...luck was on my side and it was left unlocked...saved me from wading 15 feet out into the lake to get around the fence.
dug 52 targets 16 clad coins the rest normal beach trash....nails, bobby pins and washers... [detecting]still better than watching tv.
good luck all and keep digging!
