Hello Everyone. Please may I have your thoughts on this find. It is not a coin but rather the shape of a modern day button badge. On the front is a Knights
helmet , a wild boar, a shield with what looks like 3 keys/feathers ? on it,surrounded by some latin? writing. Thanks, Martin.( Derbyshire) Detecting

Looks like a Bouillon of some type.

The Knight and other markings are Hall Marks.

Maker, Content and Location.

Thanks for the interest and feedback folks,I can only make out some of the letters due to wear on it, plus hundreds of years ago they wrote letters in a different way to now. I think someone who is an expert on the old languages would probably be able to read it ok. Just to point out ,the back is hollow like a frisbee ,the detail on the front being stamped on from the back. Here in the UK we have finds officers at the museum who research your finds and
identify them. I also have a silver penny posted in Medieval coins finds.  Smiley

The Finds officer doesnt take finds off us in the UK . The Coroner can deem certain valuable finds such as hoards of coins as "Treasure" in which case you get paid the value, shared with the landowner. Single coins or items are not taken as treasure, but recorded . Teach
