Received the Minelab X-Terra 70 with 3 coils today that I bought myself for Christmas, it is used but, in very nice condition.  Read up on the instructions before I got it and read the article in January 07 issue of Western and Eastern Treasure magazine about the XT50 a few times and still wasn?t sure how to set it up, LOL.  I fumbled through the setup in a snow storm.  Detected an area that I detected last week with my XLT and signals were abundant, mostly iron and a few nice signals in between.  First target was a bullet, a few pieces of trash then a German Navy button.  This is a nice machine and I like it however, the pinpoint mode will take some time to get use to, I do not like the pinpoint setup and the machine falls over when I set it down on flat ground as the ground stabilizer is too small.  I may heat up the stabilizer with a heat gun and try to spread it out but it will not help much.  I think a swift kick to the engineer?s lower front groin would be a good message with a sticky note stuck to his forehead stating ?what were you thinking, did you try this somewhere other than a flat desktop??  The pinpoint engineer should get the same treatment to the groin with a sticky note and a Quarter taped to it stating ?here?s your bonus for inconveniencing the user, just what you saved the company per detector? LOL!  Here?s the finds, some relics and a coin probably from the mid/late 1800s.

A German Navy button, I think it is from WWII but could not find a reference.

Obverse of a 1864 silver 1 Kreuzer coin, very small.
{alt}
Reverse of the silver, it is from Meining Germany.  It is very frozen and snowing here, I looked like a snowman when I was done detecting.  Have the next week off, hope the weather cooperates so I can get more time on the XT70.  HH, Mike

Nice finds. Expect better performance once you figure your machine out.
