Go Up Go Down

Hey Y'all, It's been a while since I posted any finds and that is mainly due to the fact that I haven't made any! I have only been out two or three times since the weather got too hot to hunt.
Anyay, here are the few things I did recover.
I hunted a plowed field with two of my buddies early in the morning about two weeks ago. By 10am it was too hot to stay out. This is a field that has given up some nice Confederate buttons, even though there was no war action anywhere in the area.
So, when I got a decent signal I was hoping to get my first Reb button. Imagine my surprise when out popped an Eagle Cavalry coat size one. Not ten feet away I got a pull tab signal and almost didn't dig it but, there was something about it that made me decide to dig. Out popped an Eagle Infantry vest size button! So, here I am, about as far south as you can go and not get wet, finding Yankee stuff! I acn only guess that they were part of a collection that was lost or thrown out
About the only other MDing find was this 1902 Barber quarter and a shield nickel that came from a nearby site a few days later.
And lastly, I found this 1901 Indian Head in my pocket change last Tuesday!
 I'll

nice finds......the artillery button is in especially good shape, and the quarter is truly a coin of beauty.

I don't know what I was thinking when I said this was a cavalry button. Wise I knew it was Artillery. I reckon I'll have to go back and find a "C" now.

Good job.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.  It encourages me to get back out.  I have only used mine lately with my son.  He loads his own ammo and when he is testing loads in the country he wants to save the brass so I am his recovery man.
