there a common find in southren Germany religious medals,and theres plenty of collectors out there,some are worth a ?1 or 2,some go for big bucks,this on came of a field this year,a nice one of pope pio IX 1846-1878...mike

One of my favorites, findinding religous items, I've seen allot of stuff pulled from the grouns of England...nice find

Bad Angel LOL don't worry about your spelling we know what your talking about. Religious metals are one of my favorites things to find. It would be cool to hunt in Germany or England and find really old ones.

In many fields in Europe, the farmers would throw medals into the soil and hope that the Gods or the Saints would help with the harvest.
