Went out for a couple hours to the local lake beach. Found this ring sticking half way out of the sand. Eyeball find...Believe it's costume jewelry though...

Ring looks like silver to me, any hallmark in it?

It do's look like silver.  Has some weight to it. Very clean.  It was as if it just fell off a finger. It was sticking half way out of the sand when found.  I looked very very closely and did not see any markings on it at all...

Becky said:    My husband found a ring just like that and all the stones tested real diamonds. Nice find        This is what a fellow detectorist told me on a FB detecting group I am a member of.  Showed me pics of the ring they found and it looks just like the one I found but...there's says sterling silver in there's. Maybe it did on mine as well and its just worn off? Will find out for sure Tues. and let ya all now...

Great find cache. Even if its not silver, it still looks nice. I won an 1885 Morgan silver dollar at the club outing yesterday. After I got all excited about it they informed me it was a counterfeit. I put my magnifying on it and could see a lot of tiny mistakes. It looks real enough, but it is a cast copy not a stamped. Its worth a few good laughs I supposed Sad

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.
