I found this in a park.  Looks like a diamond, but I seriously doubt it.  I'll bet it cost somebody some real money.  People have encouraged me to take it in and have it appraised.  I just don't think I'm that lucky.  Anyone have an opinions on it's possibilities.

First the stone is not faceted the edges are soft not sharp, which shows it was shaped on a grinder and tumbled to finish. The shank shows flaking of the plating metal. Are there any marks at all on it?

92.5 is the mark for sterling silver possibly plated over silver
