Got out for just a couple of minutes Saturday.  Wanted to work a particularly trashy area in the yard to see how the E-trac was going to do.  Wound up getting this Rival dog food tag that says:

This dog belongs to Bill King with an address in Lima Oh. and says Rival dog food at the bottom.

It appears that the tag dates back to around the 30's or 40's and was a promotional offer of some sort probably one where a customer could send in UPC's or proofs of purchase for an ID tag for the dog.

I included a picture of the uncleaned tag as well as a picture of the tag with a u.s. quarter for size reference along with the nails that were also found in the hole with it.  I'd say this target had a bit of "masking".

Thanks for looking and HH.

Yeah me too.  Although it may not seem like much I still find them interesting and have kept every one of them I run across.
