This is a complete Romain fibula. With a fibula it is important that it still bears its needle. Once too much tension gets applied to the locking needle, it may break. Once it breaks, it is likely to get lost or to be thrown away.

That's the reason why one often happens to find more damaged then healthy ones.

It is about 1800 - 2000 years old and must have belonged to a child. I have some very large ones as well of which I will post pictures later on.

The needle is the part on the right. It is an uncommon example.
