Go Up Go Down

I'll start with the bad. My mother passed away on Father's Day due to a lot of health problems and a long fight that she lost. Tonight was the viewing so I thought I would go out this morning and kill some time detecting and clear my head. I have detected this yard a few times and only found clad and junk. Well today it started with my first wheatie a 1941 then found a Missouri tax token. A few minutes later I got a 88-90 on the VDI and had to dig 7". It was a 1943 Walking Liberty half dollar in great shape. This was my first silver coin as well as my first wheatie and first tax token all in the same day. I must say that it made my day much brighter and I also found 9 more clad coins. I went to the viewing feeling  much better and have the funeral tomorrow. Mom always said I worked too much and needed to relax more. So Sunday I plan on going back and following her advice and relaxing and hoping I can have a day of nice finds....Warren

Sorry for your loss Warren.
A little detecting can be good for clearing the head.Plus the feeling you get when you make a good find.
It's only going to get better from here on....  Great

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I appreciate all the kind words from everybody. I went back out today and found a 1958 silver quarter, another mill tax token, 1948 nickel and some clad so it was another good day. I have no problem at all finding a silver a day and hopefully the luck wont run out. I'm having more luck with the Fisher F2 than the Garrett Ace 250, the F2 was locating coins in the same spot that  I had just went over with the Ace 250 with the 9x12 coil. I was using the 8" on the F2. Both of them are still great machines and normally I take both while hunting...HH everybody and thanks again....Warren Smiley
