Today I found about 2 dollars in change at an old school yard. One silver 1964 dime in the bunch. Boy was it cold (34 degrees)! Some pictures here........John in Va.

Nice find!, I do a lot of school yards and pick up several dollars of change each time I go.( found 32.00 during Thanksgiving school break, out of 4 schools) Nothing old, but it sure helps when its time to buy coffee during the week. Also, Iam glad to see the pull tops, I try to pick up as many as I can and discard. Good going on your find!!!

Hi Sharon.....Yes I do like the school yards, especially when they are very old and you can find silver.
I haven't tried any tot lots yet but I'll have to look into that...I think it's a little warmer where you are, it's snowing here right now. Have a great weekend.....John in Va..

Try to keep warm there.  We've had a ton of rain here, and the Temp is dropping now.  Very windy outside too.

I'm hoping to go to a vacant lot tomorrow.  In the 70's it was a bar, now only stands is a building and the lot is overgrown. I'm told our high tomorrow will be in the 40's.  I love to look at snow, but have lived in NJ, and remember the drifts still.

Stay warm, and I will let you know if we go, and what we may find....

SharenH

Hey, great stuff.  I'm hoping to go to my old elementary school over the holidays.  In the 1940's through early 1960's it was a school.  In the 1970's the gov't turned it into a drivers training facility. Hope to find some old coins at least.

Should be plenty there, I think a large portion of detectorist are not patient. Always some left over for those who have patience and skill.......have a good hunt........John in Va
