Nice! Did you finally warm up finding all that cool stuff?

Hello Tulephotog.......Yes I'm warmed up now. It's 26 degrees F here now and about an inch of snow on the ground. It won't hold me back long, I'm biting at the bit to get outside and do some hunting.
Actually I like the cold, it's very refreshing.  Have a good day.......John in Va.

Hello Gusar............The coins were found in one day......a lot of memorial pennies in the bunch. Some people don't dig them but I do. Have a good day.....John in Va.

My most frequent find at schoolyards are pennies, dimes, and those danged little metal eraser retainers that hold erasers on end of pencils. I sometimes find nickels and quarters also...but have never found a half dollar or dollar coin at a schoolhouse site. But I know someone who found a gold coin at a schoolhouse site and I'd have to say that's some dang good luck!!!!!! You ought to have seen me when I found a goldish-colored coin one time at a Catholic school house....I was in the YIPPEEE!!! mode when I noticed those sad little raised words on the back of the coin stating that the coin was a fake........My mood went down hill quick and that's enough about that...LOL

School yards are interesting places, you are apt to uncover anything, especially in an area where there is a history dating back to colonial times etc... About twenty years ago I hunted a school in Virginia and recovered civil war items. I'm planning on going back to that school this spring. I made a trip to a school about a week ago and recovered about 4.75 in clad coins, my partner recovered one silver quarter and a handful of clad. He was using a Sunray 5 inch stealth coil, it seems to do very well.....Have a good day.....John in Virginia

I try to go to the school yards on the weekends. Have found coins, but most aren't that old.

I like searching the older schools....around the playground equipment, stairs, porches, and even older sidewalks near the schools. In Ok. most of our older schools usually had rock walls built out and around the school property that was anywhere from 2-4' high. There is good hunting along these walls also.
Anyhow, a bad day at hunting-is better than a good day at work. Good luck.
