I know that it's over six ounces without the two-tone stuff.  Largest in the middle is 26.1 gr. second band is 16.7--two lunkers!  Hate to say it but these were found mostly with pulse machines--down, down...(Fake rock at the back, but I'll take the setting).  The one beside it i(left) is Tiffany.

Nice haul......too bad platinum is currently undervalued relative to gold (at least based on historic trends).   Right now, it's running about $300/ounce over gold.

Very nice.  guess that I am under the wrong impression that platinum was not detectable. 

  A friend called me up a while back to find an ear ring that his mrs had lost on their lawn mower.  I showed up and she showed me where it should be but the 505 caught nothing there.  I told her to get the other one so that I could either notch it or just to know what to look for.  Wouldn't ya know that I could not get anything from the other ear ring on the 505 or an MPX.  I did not try the prospector coil, just the 8 inchers.

  Did my old bud give the mrs something out of the cracker jack box??

  She told me that it might have been platinum so I just left it at that and took off.  The piece was very small as far as the metal went.  It was just a stud diamond with a very little bit of metal in it.  Even though it was tiny, I never ever got any hint of a signal out of the one she showed me so I told her that I could not help her.

  Since I don't have any platinum, how does a band like that read on a detector??  Aluminum/Silver?     Copper?    Gold/Nickel/Foil??
