Go Up Go Down

Went to the coast yesterday it being Easter and all.
Not going to reveal exactly where, lets just say "the west country" here in the u.k.
Had permission to search on a private bit of beach.
Didn't find a lot for an hour or two, only a few pounds in modern currency.
I then concentrated my searching around an area of rocks.
After quite a while of finding nothing but bits of copper and iron I got a huge signal from the minelab.
It was coming from a gap about an inch wide between a couple of pretty hefty rocks.
I used the "probe" i'd built to locate it exactly and tried to recover it.
It took about an hour to get out with the help of a pretty hefty pry bar to seperate the rocks.
Out came a very blackened large coin shape!
I've now cleaned it up a bit...... and it's in great condition!

Thanks!
Thinking of going back there next weekend (even though it is a bit of a drive)
I have a feeling there may be more, kind of ran out of time yesterday!

It was brilliant!
I would have had a hard time retrieving the coin without it.
It gave a clear signal from about five inches.
I had to lower it into the gap with the cable slightly as it was around 10-11 inches deep.

Congratulations Paul . You proved that your probe is better in its use than a probe fastened to a housing . First of all it is more sensitive , secondly it is a lot cheaper when you make it  yourself , and thirdly it will go into very narrow spots ( like bore holes  or beteen rocks ) .  Great   Cornelius

Wow! That's a beauty and the condition!! Doesn't appear to have been in circulation long at all. Sounds like the time making the probe was well spent. I'm really happy for you! Hope you find more - lots more! Sue

Thanks!
The probe is proving invaluable.
I mentioned finding bits of copper etc.
These were mostly found with the probe between rocks where the detector cannot go!
 Great
