Go Up Go Down

Well got back in about a hour ago and on one of the hottest days in Florida yet, Look as though I was in the ocean, but found a ton and some very old items that made my day .
The bull left us alone today think it was to hot for the big bugger to move but he watched us about 200 yards away, which by the way the distance made me feel pretty good.Pictures below very tired going to get some rest. I hope you all  had a great day, Till Then,
Lou

Beautiful haul of items. Things are getting better and better. For the benefit of us not too familiar with RR things, it would be nice to have the names of each item. Today I found two huge pressure clamps and three more tie tiles, which I left behind to remove some other day for I had no tools with me.

Hello everyone, I forgot to tag these pics for you so starting with the first, it is a link and pin that was used for connecting the logging cars together there are different styles this one mid to late 1800s , The second picture is a one piece brake hanger made by Kilby manufacturing in 1889 for the brakes on there logging flatbed cars.Last picture the shovel head I have not been able to date as of yet think mid 1900s,couple horse or ox shoes,Far right is a iron piece that fits on the ends of a wooden yoke to hook up the horses or ox's and I am not sure of the rest. Till next time,
lou

Thanks for sharing. Is there a monetary value for such items? Or do you simply collect for yourself?

Thank you,

Dave

Hi Dave, I was going to keep it all but I have so much I decided to sell some track, found a collector about 50 miles from me and he just offered me $1600.00 for 8 pieces of T-Rail about 45 ft in all,so thats a done deal. He also has a great interest in a lot of the Kilby lumber car Items I have posted and if I can get the right price I will be letting those go also. I am selling the spikes on eBay for about $20.00 for 45 spikes and have sold quite a few of those. so yes it is working rather well so far. I am just baffled that I have not found any coins. still looking..
Thanks
Lou

Lou, amazing deals you are getting for your RR stuff. Yet, please keep looking for I think we are all learning a lot from your finds. What a historical food for thought. Clapp
