Found more intersting things....i found a pair of matching barn door hasps about 50' apart...I finally found a foundation..I will be starting on that tomorrow.

Foundations are good.    Just out of curiousity, since this is obviously a site you plan on working for a while, are you logging in (or at least diagramming things like where the foundation is)?   If you can get a couple of foundations located and mapped out (with the size fairly accurate), you should be able to "intuit" a lot of traffic patterns---especially if you use the finds to give you an idea of what was happening at each foundation area.


Or you could just forget all that and have fun turning things up as they come up.  (you just seem methodical enough to benefit from the mapping approach).

Hey BA

That is a great suggestion. I have located two foundations now and the old road that went back to the old farmhouse. I know there was a back way out but have not found that. It is interesting though, it is or was an old story I used to hear the old folks talk about that during the civil war part of this was a camping area on the creek. I have found the creek and ready to start on it later this week..should be interesting
