Hope everyone had a nice weekend,
I found these stamped pennies this morning along with a token from Cinemark Theaters and my
fifth 50 cent piece 1974, my third time detecting this site. Has anyone seen pennies like this ?  Undecided

Counterstamping/countermarking coins used be a fairly common practice, but why anyone would counterstamp fairly recent pennies is beyond me unless they were either bored or missing some game pieces.

I had no idea what that was, it's kind of strange the back has got this very smooth black finish different from
anything I've seen,
Thanks for the info.  Great

Sounds more and more like game pieces.

Thats pretty unique with the stamped pennys, I have a few pennys with the green patina on them, it has to do with the copper mixture and being in the ground," what I was told, im no expert!" Good Job! Wink
