Golddigger - my ancestors were Druids, which is why this whole stump shooting escapade is so distressing... Grin

Hold on whilst I has a sip o me tay! Mmmmmm! So good! Scots, Irish and Guidelic (welsh) all Druid decent.

Yes, a lot of my ancestors also were Druid, and even tho many became *Christian,* I am a Shamanist! Similar to Druid.

I just assumed the stumps were already deceased! Less pain that way.

However, if they were not, then it just loads the shooter's karma with bad stuff.

Karma.... probably has an equivalent term in Druidism and shamanism, it is just easy and familiar.

GoldDigger1950, what were you doing that someone might shoot your trunks?

What am I doing? Nothing at all, just minding my own business doing a bit of coil swinging. Wasn't me talking about shooting trunks. I just wear trunks at the beach is all.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

You might get shot in the trunks if a landowner finds you metal detecting without permission...   Angry

Ouch! Hey, the beaches here are not private so no worries there. As to private land, I always get permission.

Speaking of which, may I hunt your back yard? It's OK. I'm a professional.

 Hi Ken,
You made me go find some .38 cal bullets that I found exactly the way you found yours.   Take a look at these they were near a rotted out stump and they are stuck hard together, I think the shooter had managed to get two rounds into the same spot and they got almost welded together, there were many in good shape that had just fallen out of the tree as it rotted but these two were unusual there were also many shell casings there, ....The 1956 wheaty is for size comparison, I think I should clean it!!!..........HH..........Johnnn

Detecting Clapp Clapp Great I've always liked metal detecting around and inside of stumps and bases of trees. Wise Detecting  Good things have been found around and even inside old stumps and trees.
