Hi Pop top,
This site is very interesting as you can see many of the coins are from the US and they are early coins the reason for that is they were lost by Canadian WW1 and WW2  soldiers who were training at this spot, we suppose they went across the boarder when they were "at ease" for social reasons and bought back the coins you see there are very few modern coins and NO junk there...........HH....Johnnn.

when I get close to the road I can see the US across the river.

Good history there! I worked with several Canadians displaced to Ks. All have a great Zest for life, lots of fun! That never stopped me from rattling their cage though.

Johnnn, I think those are the first "swagger stick" ends I've ever seen.

Thanks for posting.

Hi Karl,
I too have many horse shoe's I have given so many away to people but I have so many left they are mostly from the 1812 war and I now have second thoughts about giving them away.

Sorry Johnnn , got distracted lol, that's awesome that you have so many items from 1812, and yep you may have given away some of your luck . LOL

Good Luck and Happy Hunting and thanks for sharing.

Nice finds. I too have found a number of horse shoes and iron tools in the woods. Mine are probably from the 1800s too when people used to live in the woods. I was watching the History channel's three episodes of the historical Hatfield's & McCoy's feud and learned how life in the woods was so common then.  Great
