I called Garretts and they sent me a return label for UPS. I took it to be sent back.
They said they would send me a new one as soon as they saw a tracking number and shows that it's on its way back to them.
I just don't know why it did that. I have an older one that has been taking a licking and it's still working. I guess there's a lemon
in every batch.
It wouldn't sound off. All it did was vibrate.

sounds like they new about the problem.
Good that they support their product and your down time without it will be minimal

Someone mentioned that many of the black new ones have been sent back for replacement.
Luckily I still have the old one that has not given me problems up to now.
I guess it's like the new cars that need to get the bugs in them taken care of.

If you know your detector you really don't need one.     Just another Do Dad someone is selling.

I guess I have gotten used to using a pinpointer. I have to help my detecting buddy since he can't find the dug target.
I can tell if it's shallow or deep just by rubbing the top of the ground where the target has been located.
My detector does have a pinpointer so I guess I can do without it if I forget it or something happens to it.
