Go Up Go Down

Had an exceptional day as far as silver coins, finding 3 of Canadas smallest 5c pieces I actually thought there were four but on returning home I found one is US "half dime" 1853 which is the smallest coin made of silver that I have ever found it is even smaller than our 5c piece.
Question; is this a common US coin? as I haven't seen one before I have seated liberty dimes but not this one.
The weather held up and was quite warm and actually had swarms of "black fly" coming out to annoy us "they must have a good hiding place"!(in December?)
I also found a Victoria "Farthing" from Britain 1900 a large clevis "tow hitch" cant imagine what it was towing as there are no roads at this place. also a large penny 1912........and again one and a half horse shoe's same as last outing, two musket balls..........HH..........Johnnn

Hi Dan,
This site does yield some nice older US coins which I always covet what I do not know is their rarity just finding such a small coin is a warm fuzzy feeling.

That was an excellent hunt Johnnn. You found a lot of
silver coins that are hard to find anymore. Well done.
