By the way...that triangle on the lower right is 11.5 OZ solid copper.(worth about $3.50 scrap)
This area was like a scrap yard. Had to turn my GB a FULL turn neg to get through it!
That was a first, as well as breaking both my dig tools...wonder how much treasure lies within all that junk??

Go Up Go Down

looks like you had a good day Hector, It was too hot here in Florida to get in a good day but I managed to go out at sundown and get in an hour. Found two clad and lots of junk but it looks encouraging and I'm going back at sunrise tomorrow. The state built a new bypass and ripped up the old road and covered it over with about 100 truckloads of fill which is now about 6 " thick, smooth and grass free. I can sweep a lot of area in an hour.  I think some of the fill came from old residential sites as indicated by what I have found so far. Today I dug iron and everything else to see how old the junk in the ground is. It looks to be 1940 or 50s no earlier and not much later. No aluminum cans or poptops to speak of but several crown caps half rusted away. The only keepers were a diecast toy car and a spoon.
