OK....here are some of the items the wife decided to bring home with her (the glass, including a 1935 Bayer aspirin bottle, and the petrified wood will get posted tomorrow).
The pictures labeled Wife's 1 through Wife's 1c are a piece of slag that we think came out of a lapidary shop that caught on fire.  The primary metal seems to be aluminum, although there are other metals mixed in as well as a few crystals and minerals.  There is even at least one nail in it.  She found a slabbed piece of petrified wood close by.
Wife's 2 and Wife's 2a are some of her other finds from the trip.

Thanks, everyone.

Xavier, she usually does better in the finds than I do, too.   I haven't decided whether it is because her hearing is better than mine or whether she is relying on her intuition.  I KNOW it is not her search  technique.  I've watched her search a field and it is like watching a drunk navigate between saloons. Smiley
