Thank you, Tim, my husband, did what he could... No Micro setting on this old one.  I will just have to find larger treasures!!!...

Have a great evening.

SharenH

Macro, not micro. Look for the picture of a flower - a tulip on most cameras. That's the macro setting for closeup focusing. If you don't have one, back off to about 12 inches and use your editing software to give you the close up cropping you need.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thank you... But no setting like this on my husband's camera, but I will look for that in our next one.  I hoping to hunt an old lot in Orange Heights on Thursday afternoon.  There used to be an old gun shop there.  I got permission last night from the owner... It's a little overgrown, so I need to find my snake boots and bug spray... I will deff let everyone know what I find... Have a great day, on my way to work..

SharenH

I hunt over grown spots with a thin piece of plexi glass(24"x36")with 2 holes in it that i carry on an piece of rope. The detector signal will go thru the plexi glass. I lay the plexi on the taller grass step on it(flatten out the grass) and search close to the ground this way. Its slow but it works and you can see the spots you already searched very easy. You can also use thin piece of plywood. Just a little tip.... Happy huntin....DW Cool

Thank you Danwebster! I'm not too worried about the tall grass as much as the critters in it. I will pick up the Plexiglas tomorrow at work.  I hope to find a few treasures there.  There was an old Gun shop on the property, last time I walked the property you could tell were it was.  I think it just deteriorated to the ground.  From the 1930's to 1960's it was in business.  My friend bought the property about 6 years ago hoping to put a restaurant there.  He owns a motorcycle shop next to it.  He said I could also hunt there on the large lot he has his business on.

I will let everyone know what I find.

Take care,

SharenH

SharenH - I'm still having camera issues myself.  I bought a new digital camera recently, but have to admit I haven't figured all of it (ok, any of it!) out yet.  I'm determined to so I can share pics of my finds! Embarrassed

My husband and I are going to Target tonight to check out a few things, and I told him we will be also looking at camera's as well.  I miss my SLR Pintx SP1000!!!!

Well, my hunting at an old gun shop only turned up a penny 1965, but I found a lot of alum for the dumpster.  Only critter I came across was a very large black snake.  I was happy with that.  I hope to go out tomorrow to a few Tot Lots... I will keep you posted...

Have a great day!!
