Hi all!

Motivated after my last hunt and going stir crazy I hit the hills again and managed to find a few nice treasures from the past.  This area looks like it is going to be a great area! Spent about 3/4 of the day out hunting. The cold felt good and refreshing to hunt in along with the smell of pine trees!  Gotta love it!

Good hunting all!        ironman

I think what I should do.... is save all the pull tabs, alum & trash. Dig a hole under a tree about 1 foot deep.  Put all the trash there in a big jar with a note for the next generation of hunters with a note that this was found at our parks and school yards.  Like a time capsule.

But then I would be just littering like the others....

I will always remember the commercial of the American Indian with a tear in his eye.  That has stuck with me all my life.

Anyway... We have fun with our hobby, we help the envoirment and sometimes we get the gold.

Love and Peace to all...

A good post. I bet in  a hundred years time, there won't be may zinc pennies to be found.

Cheers and a Happy 2010 to all.

 Shocked Ironman,
Any clues as to what the stars where used for??  Very unique bunch of finds. You must be located in the south or the east coast???

Sharen,  I love that idea!!!! The American Indian commercial I remember as well. When I see the trash  where I hunt for meteorites it gets my goat! No tears roll but many choice words do roll off the tongue and flow freely! Unfortunately most of the trash has been left by other hunters . I am constantly picking up plastic water bottles and candy wrappers!

Lem,  I am in N.M. The stars are off of soldiers uniforms!

Romeo,  thanks! It's always a blast finding this kinda treasure.

Amen, SharenH, I'd like to leave a cache for future generations also--and I accidently done just that...I buried a camming jar with a Zink lid on it 22 inches deep to test dowsing rods and we never found it again and we've tried on many occasions. Somehow in my calculations when I made my map, I made a mistake and it's been really hard locating the jar...One fellow used a $3,400 Pulse Induction detector that he said was capable of going about ten feety deep and we still didn't locate the jar. And we've used an older twin box unit made by fisher--still no jar???That jar contains two gold rings, several silver coins including two seated liberty halves, and a bunch of silver plated silverware. The crazy thing is we've even trenched and dug all around where I thought it was buried down to about the 22" depth...NOTHING! ZILCH! Nary a darn jar???  I guess we need to resort to bull dozers or backhoes...
I WANNA FIND MY JAR...JUST MAYBE ONE DAY!!!!!!!!
