Go Up Go Down

Went to a recently cleared parking lot and sidewalks Hunted for an hour and a half and found a bunch of iron! This was the biggest challenge for me yet and I got my butt kicked good. I tried using the Relic settings and playing with tuning and turning disc almost off, and gain almost at +3 with threshold at about 2. Found lots of nails and other junk...nothing worth keeping. Back to the parks I go!

Woa, sure sounds like one of those super rough spots where the steep learning curve can only be handled for so long, eh. Too much iron is one of the very toughest tests for many machines, and operators too, I might ad.  Smiley You lasted longer than I have in the past in similar spots. Just like in my fishing, I like action and the odd biggie or oldie will come along too, if I put in the hours and work on my skillls.  Cool

Give me parks almost every time now. I still find the odd very cool old relic in parks and old abandoned places to add to my little collection too.  Detecting

Thanx for sharing your sort of skunking with us. We always should learn something out there, every time. Never really getting skunked that way.

Later, lb

BerntOut, it takes a few stumped detector trips to make us appreciate the successful searches all the more. Keep up the good faith and maybe the next detector outing will be a very rewarding adventure...  Wise     Great

I was being brave today and took my gold machine (no discrimination) to the local park, I only lasted about 45 minutes.  I was excited when I pulled what at first looked like a quarter from about 5" deep.  As I cleaned it off I discovered it was a slug from a power box Cry.  The only plus side is I got a real good idea of what iron sounds like.

AzJake....you gotta keep going. Put the time in. I get so zeroed in on MDind that I loose track of time I found a slug the other day too and brought it home. Thought it was a quarter. I went to another street/sidewalk recently stripped off the hard stuff. MD about 2 hours. Found one penny, 1967, then lost it! DOH! Found  a cool small buckle...could be an old dog collar or sandal. I'll post it later. Then I went to my first school and worked hard for a few pennies and one dime. It felt like today I am going backwards!

Hey BernOut......sometimes I think my middle name is "Ironman".  Wink    But think, it could have been a lot worse----you could have been skunked literally.

Keep on keepin' on.   Every step gets you closer.
