There are a lot of tobacco barns still standing near my home, so I've been visiting them lately. Today I spent a couple of hours around two, and found 11 lincolns, three(on the left) are wheat from the 20's and 30's and two clad dimes from the late 60's. We had awesome weather today for thunting...............

Nice finds but what type of soil were these found in? They look somewhat oddly discolored.

Steve..........The soil around the barns are black, rich earth, and also some of the soil around the barn contains remnants of heating oil, used to heat the barns. The three wheat pennies were found in dirt that had a oily smell.

It surely seemed to look different then typical soil. Now I know why.
