Evening members,
Can anyone identify this coin I found with a metal detector while searching for gold in outback Australia.
It is definitely a mystery how it got there, no towns or civilisation within 100 kilometres.?

Nightjar, your coin is from Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon).    It should be nickel-brass alloy.  According to Collecting World Coins (11th Edition), Michael and Cuhaj, editors, the mintage was 3,000,000.  (That's the lowest mintage shown for that particular coin)
