Mike, went back to Green Key Beach with my detector wife Sunday and came away pretty empty again. We dug for about 3 hours and came up with a few clad coins and a hair beret. I'm going to have to give up on this one. The 150 gets confused in the salt sand. In the all metal mode you have to cut the sensitivity down and your depth is limited to 3 inches.

You could try sticking to searching only the dry sand. Most detectors do ok in the dry. Don't give up. My other detector is a Troy Shadow X5 and it does'nt work well at all in the wetsand but great in the dry. The musky works pretty good in the wet stuff for me.
HH, Mike in NJ

Mike, You are right. all of the coin finds from green key beach so far have been from dry sand  near the concession area. The sinkers and a hook came from wet sand but were near the top. I plan on upgrading soon to a detector that will work in the water.

Yesterday I tried a new site where they have been holding a flea market for some years now. I picked up $1.80 in an hour. The oldest coin was a 1966 quarter. One thing about Florida is that it is very young in terms of population The parks were agricultural lands 50 years ago. There are very few places here that were well populated in 1900 so the artifacts and coins don't go back that far. I've got a book on Ghost Towns of Florida coming from the library. I am looking for older sites.
