I was sorting my dug trash into the recycle pile and came to an orbit gum container I dug last month. As I was tossing it I thought it felt funny so I took a closer look. It was rusted shut so I had to rip the lid off and inside was my biggest paper money find so far 16$ mostly from 2003 so it probably spent the last 9 years on the bottom of the lake. It was also masking a silver ring when I dug it, so it was a darn good hole!

I believe you can take those badly damaged bills into any bank - and they can issue you better replacements for them. The banks have to turn into the FED all damaged bills, so I think you're $16 richer! Congrats there on your 'junk' finds!
