Go Up Go Down

Found today between rain showers in a sand pit playground. Some poor kid probably cried himself to sleep over losing them. I left them there on the retaining wall. Perhaps he will find them again.

Sometimes, it really is the small things that make a difference. Coins? Found $11.00 in the same area but they did not make me smile like finding the lost used car lot.

I have been out of South Africa for almost 11 years in-fact I did not leave South Africa I just went on a small tour that ended up being a rather long tour so I cant tell how it is now but 15 years ago I use to go out with just a few hand tools and always came back home with some thing's to show like coins old gun shells and so on .Now I?m busy doing re-search on the 1820 settlers and the great trek as I live in that area .I am all so building a metal detector PI and VLF I have one but it?s just a BFO and ground penetration is very poor not more that 11 cm for large coins small coins 5-8 cm so as you can see I?m quite lost at the moment and this dam recession isn?t helping ether .

Are you on parole or on full release? Sorry. Couldn't resist. So, where did you spend those missing years? Were you here in Australia? Lots of South Africans are here being as this is a Commonwealth Nation.

Hey, I just notices that you'll have your 15 posts if you answer this. Go Xavier!!

Ok here goes I?m a printing press technician and that gave me the opportunity to travel to Ivory Coast to install a machine but once in Ivory coast I was asked if I would not go to Senegal to repair a machine that there technician had taken apart but could not put back together just like Humpty Dumpy get the picture once that machine was running again they put me on another machine to repair and that one took close to five week to repair but one thing led to another so I went to Ghana and then to Mauritania then to France and Austria  and so time went by I was doing the thing that I like most TRAVEL but then all came to a halt with this depression no more work = no more traveling   and that was the end of my three week tour to Ivory Coast if you give me your mail ill send you some pics

Regards, Xavier

That's one of the funniest work related tales I've ever read about. I trust you can laugh about it now. I can't imagine living out of a suitcase for all that time.

Did you have a detector with you? Any local treasure tales come up?

I woudd love to see some photos but the best way to share them among others here is to use PhotoBucket.
