Go Up Go Down

Well not exactly a marathon, my family had me visiting ancient family members "for the last time" as they say, they say that every time I visit. Anyway I got out for a whole two and a half hours during my two week visit so the shortest time ever.
The ground was like concrete and with my knees I had to go slow at digging, found the usual bunch of shrapnel and to my surprise a very nice pilgrims silver badge from "Tweksbury Abbey"
Gloucestershire I am trying to get its age as there are no marks on it but definitely silver. A couple of spent musket balls and a lead item that has a very feint coat of arms on it off I think of a walking stick  "OMG" I knew I should have put new nail varnish on  Grin  One day I will be able to spend more time on this farm.....HH....Johnnn

Looking good.   Wish I could make it back over there for a spell. What parts did you go?

Johnnn If that Last picture is Rolled Up Lead, Then It is A ROMAN Prayer or A Curse, I have one Here and I have had my share of troubles since I found it,lol. seriously. Mate

The Romans use to write Curse's and Prayers on bits of Lead and roll them up and offer them up to the Gods at a place of worship, Be Careful because that White Stuff on the Outside IT is What Makes Lead Poisonous and That stuff is the Most Dangerous Part of Lead so DO NOT Handle it for long without Washing your hands,

If it is Rolled up Lead then it is A ROMAN CURSE or PRAYER.

Ok, Thanks for Posting them and Good Luck,

Way to go, Johnnn!  Looks like your hunting time was pretty successful even if it was short.  Thanks for showing your finds to us!
