I found these in a neighborhood that was repeatedly flooded and finally turned into a park.  They are heavy and have a bright shine in certain places.  In the late 1800's this was a city dump.

You don't suppose the coffin is lying around there somewhere? Shocked

They are about 1 3/8" L x 1 1/16" W.

They are a bit too small for those items so maybe some kind of furniture metalwork,or theres still the book clasp theory. I just know someone will get it right.

Think they are draw pulls off a Mexico import end table or chest of some type. That face design was and is used a lot in Mexico, have seen it on everything from money clips to book ends
