Wow, that was daring!  Great. I have not thought of midnight hunting, although it sounds interesting. That I'd do it in a school grounds is doubtful for I would not like the Police coming around and interrogate me about the reason I picked to hunt there in the middle of the night. In Chicago, some schools grounds are part of a public park, but they all close at 11:00 pm. I hunt schools grounds on Sundays, during the day only.

Yaaayyy!!! Hello

I am not the only detectoholic that hunts at night after all!!! Clapp

I mostly just try new ideas on tactics under a street light in the front corner of my own yard and a friendly neighbor's who I have permission from.  I have stopped by a couple of old bridges on my way back from work a few times but without being in my comfort zone in my own yard it just doesn't quite feel right.

  Here's a story...

I stopped by my shop (around 12:30 PM) to drop off equip after a late job just last week and decided to hunt.  It didn't take long for a cop to stop by and ask me if I have lost something!  After a little explaining, we ended up talking about the way things looked back in the sixties in that area and I now have a few very good ideas for the area around my shop! Idea

He even told me a couple of stories about old spots in my home town thirty miles away! Idiot

Anyway, congrats on the rings! Detecting  It is pretty wild that they were found together.  The same person must have lost them I guess?  Wise I just found a silver diamond ring earlier this afternoon.  It is solid silver and is an engagement ring so I am hoping that the rock is real as well because it is one big piece of glass! Shocked

Good luck with yours.  If mine prices out well enough I will be upgrading my detector soon enough! Grin

I't's like being a bat with a Cibola, so I do better at night when it's quiet and dark. I'm using the modded CenTech pinpointer with light and vibrator so nighttime is no harder than day. Wink
Speaking of day...I put in an 8hr day at one of the biggest parks in the area...I found a new secret spot...like a freakin wishing well...I found it at the end of the day...I need to go back and reap!
This is what I found today, including 2 clad quarters, 8 clad dimes, 1995 nickel, 17 1970-84 copper pennies, 26 zinc pennies, a 1941 Merc! Shocked (was welded to a deteriorated steel penny I think-not in pic) a NO DATE BUFFALO NICKEL! Shocked a 1968&64 penny and an Asian coin that I have no idea what it is. (has a chicken or turkey on it) Forgot to mention the 1944 wheat penny next to the Buffalo and Merc, up top.
I've become a wand wavin madman! Cheesy
