Recovered this button from around 8" or so depth Feb. 5th...was ID'd as WWI era Marine corp[s. button.

I am curious, what did you use to clean the button.  I have an older copper token from the 1940s and was wondering if there was anything safe to use to clean it.  Any advice?

I used soap and water and then left it soak in lemon juice for a bit.  I also used lemon juice to clean up an older copper bracelet awhile back with decent results as well.  If you check my youtube channel you can find before and after pics of the bracelet in a video titled jewelry wolves hunt.
