Found these 2 tokens on an old fairground today. I dont know anything about them. On the reverse side is an eagle with a circle of stars around him.
Thanks
Todd

Always interesting to dig tokens. My pulse quickens at the sight of these coin-shaped objects, thinking I've got an old coin...then rubbing the dirt away, behold the token! Still cool finds!

Hi,
Many of the game booths at fairs ( and some arcades) sold tokens for use in the machines. I know the one fair that comes to town every year here still uses these types of tokens. They usualy give you 5 tokens for a dollar. I am not sure if they switched to tokens to keep people from breaking into the games for the quarters or there was another reason. A local casino uses token in their slots also. I think it is because they are made to a certain size and weight to keep slugs and foreign coins out of the machines.
