Congrats on that find!

My grandfather was at the 1933 worlds fair in Chicago, so this great find brings back memories of the stories he told us about that historic event.  Great

Cheers,
Jim

Found a lucky penny medallion today, Almost missed it because I thought it was a can lid. (see photo of what it looked like when I got it out of the hole. ). but as soon as I picked it up I knew it was too heavy to be a can lid. It was completely covered with dirt and I placed it in my pouch thinking it was some sort of a slug or machine part that I would look at later. Apparently these came from the 1933 worlds fair held in Chicago. I found it in the foundation dirt of a house that was razzed.
The house was built in '51. I'm trying to find out if there was a structure on this site before 51. Gambol

That is an interesting find fer sure.

Something like that happened to me with a one ounce silver bar that I just figured might have been a metal decal from an 80's pair of designer jeans./  A quick hit with an old tooth brush and water got that dirt to jump right off and the bar started to shine!

I really only kept it to see what kind of jeans they might have come from.  I even put it in my trash pocket since I wear my tactical pants when hunting just for the extra pockets.

Ever since then I will make sure that anything in doubt will get a second look.
