Found this Chicago Transit Authority token by a tree last October. It wasn't until today that I realized that these tokens are hard to find for the CTA removed 20 millions of them from circulation in 1999. This one is from the early 1950s when the authority began using them. They were replaced by plastic passes. People with tokens exchanged them for the plastic passes. So there are not too many around. Some were even converted into jewelry pieces. Happy to find one and looking for more!

Cool find. I'm still finding transit tokens here in NYC. It still surprises me when I dig one up
