Go Up Go Down

Found this at Martha Washington Park.
Looks like it got kicked around in the street before it ended up on the curb strip.
It was way down around 7-8"
Thought it was a dog tag until I cleaned the crap out of it and still couldn't read it, so I rubbed it on a fine sharpening stone and the letters popped out! Shocked

Mardi Gras
Portland Ore.
1904

I've been posting less and doing more serious historic research.
Now that I have 1936 in hand, I can compare with Google Earth 2010...VERY COOL!
Will start posting more when I start stacking the silver coins.

This is an auction for a pin, but "Advertising the 1904 Portland, Oregon Mardi Gras & Carnival. A few years later this would be called the Portland Rose Festival" helps give some info regarding your find. Sue

Very cool find, Hector.  I'll have to show that one to the wife for sure.
