came across this pix today, found this eyeballing along hwy 9 near hachita nm, 2009, very rare, sold it right away. Other side shows 12 1/2 cents, dates to late 1800's early 1900's unable to locate pix for other side, will post if i come across it.

Cool Beans!  I hunt some old Rail Stops on the Pulled up tracks along Hy 9 down there.

The Border Patrol Pesters you about every hour or so!  Idiot

After you have been talked to three times you would think the rest of them would know what's up?

thanks, yes the border patrol are many times more numerous than the actual residents there in hachita

the railroad stops are good places to hunt, and there were some military encampments nearby where there were actual coins in use, and other tokens

i traded for one of the hachita tokens but have not received it yet, and I found a decommissioned token from 12th cav metal detecting, that was issued at their location prior to arriving there at camp shannon in hachita, it was cut on one edge, it is one of the better finds I have made there, i still have it and will try to get some pix

i found the other side of that sylvanite token (attached).  Thanks for writing....b

Thanks!!!!  this is a little better in shape than mine, maybe cleaned, they say there only may have been 40-50 made!  I got a little less than that but i sold it the next day, and it was to a regular who has done a lot of business with me in the past, I like to make him happy.  i knew its value though. i posted a home movie over at another category last night (Mug shots?) its up on youtube, near the middle but in the last half of that little film is a shot of a basket ball court in hachita, a border patrol truck is driving by...it was in front of that first little yellow table i found this token, right out in the open....i had gone there to wait for the crowd to die out at the post office, it was christmas time, and there were four cars there at P.O. when i drove by, so went to the park to wait a few minutes, got out, looked down, there it was...a good day.  I still need to get the pix of the 12th cav decomm token i found there in a dudes yard...will do it in a day or two i hope...check out that film over at youtube the link is

many of these western tokens are worth over 100, some only $40-50 but generally they are worth more than most...most meaning 5-20$...try to get a pix up here, or go to the library with a stick and do it, or search the exact term thats on the token on google, you should get some matches that way
