Today was a great hunting day. I went to an old Chicago Park and found several goodies. I'm posting them little by little and in diferent forums. Among today's finds are two tokens. See below. One is a Wright's Barnyard token, an amusement park in Illinois. The place I learned opened in 1956 and has issued a number of different tokens. This one, I think is old, but I'm not sure because there is no enough info online. If anyone knows anything, please let me know. The other one I'll post separately.

The famous fun park shut its doors in December, 2006 after I-94 expansion claimed over 1/2 acre of the property and essentially doomed its future. The 50-year-old park was a daylong funfest for young and old. Now, it's closed.

Wow, you found more info than me  Great. Thanks. Yes, I know it closed its doors and I saw one token from 1997 in ebay that sold for a buck. Mine seems to be older, but again, not sure.  Wink

It simply amazes me how much help from other members can be obtained from this forum.

Well , ya know what that means cyber,  you need to go to the 1980's sat views on google and see if the front area and parking areas were not claimed by the government so that you know if the best places to hunt are still there!  If it was opened for fifty years and closed in '06, then that leaves you eight years of silver coins that cwere lost and seriously are needed to be found by you.

Ya better hurry up though cuz I might just fly on up there and find them before you do!! Grin

Nice find.  Congrats.  I have always enjoyed finding tokens and then trying to find the story behind them.

Me too. Finding out what is behind my finds is one of my favorite activities right after the hunt. Now with smart phones and Ipads, one can find that info right on the spot!
