He wasn't just looking for lost things. He dug 15 holes in a national park.  Violent

Rules are Rules, but Who Owns the National Parks?

You have to pay rent to stay the day.

You have to pay Rent on top of that to spend the night on your own property?

I don't much like paying for staying the week end on my own properties .

No Water, No Poo Poo Place, and Smokie the Bear telling me my camp fire is not Compliant.

I like to find things, but after I find them then the thrill is gone. If the parks would start a Detectors club that would be cool. Most of the detectors we use now a days, the holes are only about 3 or 4 inches wide. Not hard to recover them. Also the rule could be anything you find goes to the park, with your name as the locater.
Thanks

Better yet charge the government a high fee to uncover historic memorabilia for each site to put on display . Otherwise It does nothing , just stays buried in the ground and can not be appreciated .  :Smiley

If you really want to hunt a national park, you can always get to know the archeologists assigned to the park and offer your assistance should they wish to do any exploratory digs or sampling.   No guarantee that they will take you up on the offer, but it has been known to happen.

That is cool advice. Now to just find out when they might be digging.
