Go Up Go Down

In the year 525 B.C., King Cambryses II sent his army from his kingdom in Thebes deep into the Egyptian desert.  The army of 50,000 men disappeared, and were believed to have been buried in a colossal sandstorm in the midst of the Sahara desert, never to be seen again.  Until just recently, that is.

Archaeologists have discovered hundreds of sun-bleached bones and skulls near a large rock formation.  Researchers can be seen using their trusty Garrett metal detector, with which theyve located bronze weapons, a silver bracelet, beads, an earring and various other metal artifacts.

That picture of all the bleached bones and skulls  Shocked "take a closer look at a valley of bones" There's a lot to be found in those deserts. Thanks for sharing the story. Sue

I really got a kick out of seeing the pic of the Garrett metal detector out there in the middle of the Sahara!  Great ad for Garrett! Smiley
